Privacy Policy
This policy explains how North Shore Towing ("North Shore Towing", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through this website (northshoretowingservices.com), our online forms (forms.northshoretowingservices.com), by phone, by text message, and in person at our office. Our online title car auction has its own privacy policy.
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us: your name, phone number (including mobile number), email address, and mailing address.
- Towing and impound information: where and when a vehicle was located, the vehicle's description, license plate and VIN, and details of the tow, storage, and release.
- Authorization and release forms: when you authorize a tow from your property or pick up a vehicle, our forms may ask for your title or role, driver's license number, and your signature, as Washington law requires for impounds and releases.
- Photos and documents you upload or that our drivers take of a vehicle.
- Text message records: your mobile number, your consent to receive texts, the messages we send and receive, and opt-out requests.
- Technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested). Our forms also use an error-monitoring service to find and fix problems.
How we use it
- To dispatch tows and roadside service and to contact you about them.
- To process private property impounds, store vehicles, and release them to the right person.
- To send you forms, links, and updates you asked for, by text or email.
- To meet our legal obligations, including impound notices and reports required under Washington law (RCW 46.55), and to keep business records.
- To run our impound and title car auctions.
- To keep our systems secure and working.
Text messaging and mobile information
We text you only when you have asked us to, for example when you call and ask us to send you a towing authorization form or an update about a vehicle. See our SMS Terms for details, including how to opt out.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The only exception is the phone and messaging providers that deliver our messages for us, who may use it only to provide that service.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade mobile phone numbers or any other personal information.
You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help, or call 360-275-6586.
When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only:
- With law enforcement and government agencies when the law requires it, such as reporting private property impounds, or in response to a lawful request.
- With the registered owner or other legally entitled parties of an impounded vehicle, as Washington law requires.
- With service providers that help us run the business, only so they can provide their service to us: our dispatch software, website and form hosting, email delivery, phone and text messaging, and error monitoring.
- With your insurance company, motor club, or repair shop when you ask us to or when it is needed to complete a tow they arranged.
- To protect our rights, our customers, or anyone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
Cookies and third-party content
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies and does not run third-party analytics. Our forms use only the cookies needed to keep staff signed in. The map on our contact section is provided by Google Maps and the fonts by Google Fonts; Google may receive your IP address when they load, under Google's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep towing, impound, and release records for as long as Washington law requires and as long as we need them to resolve disputes. Text message consent and opt-out records are kept for as long as needed to honor your choices and show compliance.
Security
Our website and forms use encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access to customer records is limited to our staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts from us.
- To see, correct, or ask us to delete information we hold about you, call or visit us. We will do so unless we are legally required to keep the record.
Children
Our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date.
